DIRECTIONS TO BUDDY ATTICK PARK--555 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, Maryland

IMPORTANT:

If arriving by 95 SOUTH, get on Route 495 North and follow the directions below.
If arriving by the BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON Parkway, take 495 South and follow the directions below.

From 495 South--

Exit 23-B (Kenilworth Ave/Greenbelt exit). Take a right at first light onto Crescent Raod. Go up hill and entrance to the park is on your right-hand side. Take a right into parking lot. (Big wooden sign says Buddy Attick Park.)

From 495 North--

Exit 23-B (Kenilworth Ave/Greenbelt Road exit). Go up the ramp and bear to your left. Make left at stop sign onto Kenilworth Ave. Go to second stop light and make a right onto Crescent Road. Go only a few hundred feet up a hill and the entrance to the Park is on your right-hand side. Take a right into parking lot. (Big wooden sign says Buddy Attick Park.)

From ROUTE 193 Greenbelt Road South--

Pass Beltway Plaza on yoru left. Keep going and you'll go over Kenilworth Ave. Immediately get into left lane. Take a left at light onto Kenilworth Ave. You'll go over 495, and then take a right at the second stop light onto Crescent Raod. Buddy Attick Park is your first right.

From ROUTE 193--Greenbelt Road North--

Pass Greenway Shopping Center on your left. Keep going up to the next stop light and take at right at the light onto Southway Road. Go to the second stop sign. (You'll see Roosevelt Center in front of you.) Make a right onto Crescent Road. Stay on Crescent, which is a winding road. Make the last left on Crescent (before hitting Kenilworth Ave.) into Buddy Attick Park.

IMPORTANT:

If the parking lot at Buddy Attick Park is full, pass the Park (which is at 555 Crescent Road) and continue down Crescent Road, making a right into Roosevelt Center (located at 25 Crescent Road.) This is the Town of Greenbelt's town center, and includes the original movie theater, the Co-op grocery store, and restaurants. Park in the large parking lot (free public parking), and you will see in front of you the Aquatic Center (a brick building with blue trim). The following directions may look complicated but they are really very simple, and the landmarks are well marked:

Go to the left of the Aquatic Center (as you are facing it).
Walk down the access road on your left toward the Youth Center.
Pass the Youth Center on your right and turn right toward Braden Field.
Follow the path along Braden Field past the tennis courts.
Take the Lake Trail East Entrance and start walking the path that circles around the lake.
You will soon see (on your right) a "bridge" with an extended wooden railing on the right that ends after about 100 feet. At the end of the railing, follow the path left and continue walking with the lake on your left. After about one-fourth mile you will come to the location where the SIDS Walk will start. The walk itself, around the lake, is about one and one-fourth mile.
